This is Xander! He's a beautiful pearl pied male. We were in the pet store one day, and the owner asked us if we had space for another 'tiel, and gave us a number to call. We called, and then grabbed our spare cage and went to meet him. He was living in a ferret cage on the floor, with a mirror and one other toy (big rings, they later told us he'd hung himself on that toy TWICE, and it was still in there!). He let me pick him up, but as soon as they reached for him, he took off flying, right into a running ceiling fan! I finally caught him again (it was hard with a dog and cat chasing him) and got him settled in my cage, and they proceeded to tell me how they'd "Trained him not to bite by thumping him in the beak"!!!!!!! I couldn't WAIT to get him out of there! On the way home, he was in the back seat, just singing and wolf whistling away. He was pretty mean at first, but he's settled down quite nicely. He loves baths & scritches on his own terms,and LOVES Gromit - He'll follow him anywhere. He has balance issues, sometimes falls down and flies backwards, the vet says that's from being 'thumped in the beak'. But he's got TONS of character, and I just love this little guy!
